Few Difficulties
August is not very ideal time to visit India, as most of the northern and
eastern India is submerged under flood water, so there are many chances of
getting into problems. The roads and sometimes the rail tracks are also
under water, so, you might face problems while travelling. There is also
possibility of trapped by numerous water borne diseases - like cholera,
influenza, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and
low grade fever. There are possibility of landslides in numerous high
altitude places. Altogether, the rainy season is not very friendly for the
tourists.
Few Suggestions
Even if you would love to be drenched in the drippings of the monsoons, try
to keep distance from it as it might make you fall on your back due to
certain water borne diseases. Carry some water proof clothes for yourself,
for it will help you from getting wet while travelling. Also, avoid the
north Indian plains, as it is quite likely to get trapped between flood
waters here. Again, skip the dingy areas of the metros and other big cities,
as they are worth not to visit due to clumsy atmosphere during the rains.
Also be aware of the daily weather and climate forecasts before starting the
ventures.
Besides, don't get into any unknown or illegal activity. Do not disturb the
local culture and local atmosphere. Try to be well informed about the routes
and the place you are going to visit. Be well prepared for the monsoons.
